Every weekly, fortnightly and monthly figure here reproduces the ATO's Schedule 1 & Schedule 8 PAYG formulas — the same numbers your payroll system calculates, not just your annual tax divided evenly.

How to read this: Daily/Weekly/Fortnightly/Monthly figures reproduce the ATO's actual Schedule 1 & Schedule 8 PAYG withholding formulas (Resident, tax-free threshold claimed, not SAPTO). The Annually column is always your true tax after LITO/SAPTO/offsets, usually a little lower than 52× the weekly figure since employers can't apply those offsets progressively. Division 293 and the Medicare Levy Surcharge show $0 outside Annually because neither is withheld from regular pay. Non-Resident, Working Holiday Maker and SAPTO scenarios fall back to pro-rata for sub-annual columns. This is an estimate only, not tax advice.

About this calculator

Built to reproduce, line for line, the calculation logic in the companion Excel workbook — same rate tables (Tax Rates tab), same engine (Income Calculator tab), same Family Tax Benefit model. Every figure shown here has been validated against the workbook's own confirmed outputs, including the exact ATO Schedule 1 (income tax + Medicare) and Schedule 8 (HECS/STSL) PAYG withholding tables for FY2025–26 and FY2026–27. Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice — check the ATO or a registered tax agent for anything that matters.
